Truth vs. Lies

Why is it the lie is always believed?
It has been my experience that once
a lie has been told, no one ever bothers
to learn the truth.

It that possibly because the lie is easier
to believe? Or maybe it is because the lie
is just more fun to believe? Come to think
of it, a lie is just a rumor that comes to be set
in stone, never to be upturned to reveal the
truth.

Why? Because it is easier to just believe a lie
than it is to learn the truth. Learning the truth
is too much like work, and people in general
are just too lazy to do that kind of 'work'.

There have been so many lies told, and rumors
made up about me, that the truth now seems
a lie, and the lie seems the truth.
